Subscriptions

For those who have been associated with the squadron for some time will know that the subscriptions paid by cadets have remained unchanged for over 5 years.  These subscriptions are paid in part to our headquarters who in turn use these monies to subsidize various wing activities at a nil or reduced costs.  As a squadron we have been very fortunate in having an active fund raising program and this in turn has helped this squadron to grow and prosper.
However with the increased costs over this extended period and a requirement to pay a greater proportion to fund Wing events, it is now necessary to increase subscription fees.

In addition to the cost change I would like to change how subscriptions are collected/paid.  Historically we have offered weekly, quarterly, and annual payment options with some benefits to paying quarterly but no benefits for paying six monthly or even annually. In addition I have noted that collecting funds weekly is becoming a more onerous and time consuming task for staff and adds to your own difficulty of keeping track of where you are.  Too often cadets are falling into arrears by weeks and in some cases months.  At the same time we still have to pay funds based on numbers of cadets, irrespective of their contribution or otherwise.

Therefore,  I am changing the options for payment in an effort to encourage greater payment in advance and reduce the frequency of collections.  The new payments are detailed below:

There will be no weekly collection of monies.
Option 1   Monthly.       Payments before or during the month                                                      £7/month
Option 2   Quarterly.     Payments on or before (1st Jan, 1st April, 1st July, 1st Oct)                       £15/quarter
Option 3   Half Yearly.   Payments on or before (1st Jan, 1st July)                                               £26/half year
Option 4   Yearly.         Payments on or before (1st Jan)                                                             £46/year

If the quarter, half yearly or annual payments are not made on or before as specified I will have no option other than to treat any monies paid as the lower option (e.g. quarterly paid late will be classed as a monthly payment and the amount increased to reflect this). New cadets will pay nothing until the end of the first full month of their membership, thereafter they will revert to the options above.

Payments can be made in cash or by cheque.  Cheques should be made payable to 1002 (Ross-on-Wye) Sqn ATC.

Furthermore this squadron operates a fully inclusive approach and any person who feels that these costs would exclude their son/daughter/ward from joining or continuing their membership with the squadron can talk to me in strictest confidence.

Yours sincerely,
