Flying
We try to ensure that all new cadets have the chance to go flying at least once in their first year. Many manage a lot more than that, usually in a Grob two-seater aircraft. We most often go flying at RAF Cosford. There's often a chance to fly in different types of aircraft - if the RAF's got it, you could be lucky!
Gliding
The ATC is the largest gliding organisation in the world. We go gliding several times a year at RAF Hullavington, near Chippenham in Wiltshire. When you're 16 you can apply for a gliding course, and within 12 months you could be flying solo. This could be before you're old enough to drive a car! |
